Kanye West who became very controversial after interrupting Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at 2009 MTV VMAs topped the BET Hip Hop Awards nominations with 9 nods. This includes, Best Hip-Hop Collaboration, Best Live Performer, Lyricist of the Year, Producer of the Year, CD of the Year, MVP of the Year, Hustler of the Year, the Made-You-Look Award (for style) and People’s Champ.
One of the highlight of this big event is the giving of “I AM HIP-HOP” Icon Award to Hip-Hop artist Ice Cube. 2009 BET Hip Hop Awards will be hosted actor and comedian Mike Epps with a performances from the likes of Jay Z and Young Jeezy, Snoop Dogg, Missy Elliott, Monica and other big names in Hip Hop.
