VP Joe Biden to Sarah Palin : Quittin’ gov isn’t any victim!

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin took some heat from VP Joe Biden in Iraq. Sarah Palin’s complaint that she was the victim of political blood sport yesterday was rejected by Vice President Joe Biden and says “quittin’ gov isn’t any victim”. In his interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos, Biden said he disagree with Palin’s contention.

Joe Biden said he respects Palin’s decision to step down.

“I don’t know what prompted her decision to not only not run again and also to step down as a consequence of the decision not to run in 2010 and I take her at her word that it had a personal ingredient in it - and you have to respect that. I’m not going to second-guess her.”

Sarah Palin’s surprising resignation shocked the political arena leaving fans and foes guessing what prompted her decision and her future political plans.

Steven Cohen, a professor of public administration at Columbia University said:

“She’s clearly somebody who likes the spotlight. She could just as easily be a talk-show host as run for President.”

On Friday, Sarah Palin announced she will step down as governor by the end of the month. She spoke vaguely about hoping to “effect positive change outside of government,” but gave no specific indication of what’s next.

Speculation on Palin’s future has run the gamut, from leaving politics forever to laying the groundwork for a 2012 presidential bid. In the coming months, she is expected to be in high demand for GOP fund-raisers and conservative events, and an end-of-the-year book tour could conveniently bring her to early primary and caucus states.

Kraig Paulsen, Iowa’s House Republican leader said:

“Come on down. This resignation would give her more time to spend in Iowa. The fact that she would no longer be a governor would take some of her status away, but that’s all a balancing act.”
