As the American Idol eighth season premieres Tuesday, A new american idol judge Kara DioGuardi has been introduced and she has been on the news for being engaged.
Kara DioGuardi, 38, and Mike McCuddy, former school teacher turned general contractor, 34, were engaged Dec. 8 while on vacation in Mexico, DioGuardi’s rep confirms. No wedding date has been planned.”
Kara DioGuardi admitted being the new judge “was a little unnerving.
“I didn’t know where I was going to sit and when I was going to speak,” she said during a press call.
In terms of her judging style, Kara DioGuardi said she is a mix of Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell.
“I think I’m a combination of all of them,” she said. “I do like to say it like I see it.
“I don’t mince words, but I do have a heart,” she went on. “When you’re dealing with creative people who have some talent, you want to encourage them.”
Kara DioGuardi is a Grammy-nominated songwriter and has worked with the likes of Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, the Jonas Brothers, David Cook, Britney Spears and even Celine Dion.
