Marni Phillips, Steve Phillips’ wife calls the Steve Phillips Brooke Hundley affair a “brief consensual affair”. Marni Phillips said she was “unable to sleep”, “constantly checking the safety of my sons” in a statement she gives to police. Marni, Steve, and their son would each give separate statements. Marni details the terror she felt as her husband was on the road while “this woman was well aware of my husband’s rigorous travel schedule”.
Steve Philips claims his brief three encounters with Brooke Hundley started July 13, 2009 in St Louis. Phillips says after that he broke up with Hundley.
Marni details alleged calls and texts starting August 5.
“She reached me via cell phone at 10:30 that evening. I simply told her that I would not accept her phone and promptly hung up. She responded by calling our home and my cell phone repeatedly. It was close to 11 pm and the constant ringing of phone in the house caused stress to myself and my two teenage sons who were awake. I was able to reach Steve who was working late at ESPN in Bristol, CT. He came home that night and revealed to me he had been having a brief consensual affair with a woman named Brooke Hundley at ESPN.”
By August 16, Marni says she was very concerned:
“On Sunday August 16 my husband called me from Atlanta and told me to brace myself because she was threatening to call me and disclose intimate details of their affair. .. The tone of the text message [she sent] was “I care about Steve, I make him happy and we both can’t have him”. “
“At this point I began to feel a heightened sense of vulnerability as this woman was aware of my husband’s rigorous travel schedule. I was unable to sleep. I paced the perimeter of my house, constantly checking the safety of my sons.“
Marni Phillips ends her statement about Brooke Hundley as follows:
“Needless to say, as a mother with four young sons, I am terrified. I fear greatly for the safety and well being of my sons and for myself. … I am currently pursuing drastic and costly security precautions such as hiring an off duty Wilton Police officer to stand guard. “

FIRST OF ALL IT WAS WRONG FOR PHILLIPS TO HAVE AN AFFAIR. MY QUESTION IS, WHY DO THESE 20 YEARS PLUS WOMEN THINK THAT JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE GOING TO BED WITH SOMEONE THAT THEY ARE ENTITLED TO THAT MARRIED MAN. WHY DO THEY THINK THAT MARRIED MAN WANTS THEM AHEAD OF HIS FAMILY. WHY DO THESE STUPID WOMEN NOT CONSIDER THE WIFE, THE KIDS, ONLY THINKING ABOUT THEIR SELFISH SELVES. HOW COULD HE MESS WITH A WOMAN WHO THREATENS MENTAL HARM TO THE WIFE WITH HER TAUNTING CALLS. I DO HOPE THE WIFE PRESSES CHARGES AGAINST THE LADY AND THE SON AS WELL. I HOPE THEWIFE ALOS GETS EVERYTHING THAT SHE CAN FROM PHILLIPS. THIS IS CLEARLY A CASE OF THE WRONG HEAD DOING THE THINKING!
What I’d like 2 know is where do they find these women? I have a hard enough time finding a date and these married bastards get women that are hooked on them in a snap!
