Dan Miller, a longtime WSMV-TV anchor and media icon died of a heart attack. He was 67. Miller was a native of Augusta and worked in TV there and Columbia, SC before moving to Nashville in 1969.
Miller has been a fixture of Nashville television even though he spent a small amount of time in Los Angeles. In LA he was an anchor at KCBS and worked with his longtime friend and former WSMV weatherman Pat Sajak on the CBS late night Pat Sajak show. Miller came back to Nashville in the mid 90’s and has been there since.
Miller was in Augusta for the Masters Golf Tournament and was accompanied on the trip by longtime colleagues and friends Rudy Kalis and Terry Bulger. He was apparently walking through his old neighborhood with Kalis when he became short of breath.
Arrangements have not been made at this time. He is survived by his wife Karen and has four children and two grandchildren.
RIP Dan Miller. We will miss you.
