Katt Williams Arrested! Comedian Katt Williams was arrested for burglary and criminal trespassing after allegedly breaking into a home in Georgia on Sunday.
Katt Williams is expected to go before a judge on Monday (November 9) afternoon to answer to charges. The “Wild ‘N Out” alumnus, who has made appearances in movies alongside Ice Cube and Eddie Murphy, is in custody at a facility in Coweta County, Georgia. A representative with the prison would only confirm to MTV News that Williams was being held on felony and misdemeanor charges.
Katt Williams has exhibited unusually erratic behavior in the past year, beginning with a string of puzzling public appearances, before he was admitted to a psych ward in South Carolina last November.
Prior to Williams hospitalization, he was arrested on gun charges in New York and then performed at Carnegie Hall hours later. He also missed scheduled hosting duties at the 2008 BET Hip-Hop Awards and an appearance on “Late Night With Conan O’Brien.”
A representative at the time cited Williams’ schedule as a reason for his behavior, saying the comedian was fatigued. Contacted by MTV News on Monday, that same rep said she no longer represents Williams.
