This revealed a breast that was partly covered with what looked like a Chinese throwing star. The breast only needed to be displayed for a moment to spark weeks and years of controversy.
The term “wardrobe malfunction” became a permanent fixture in pop culture. Replays were shown all over the Internet, and even on news shows. Comedy shows like The Daily Show, South Park and Family Guy spoofed the Jackson wardrobe malfunction and its aftermath before long.
