Danny Ainge , Boston Celtics President and General Manager has suffered a heart attack. He was rushed to Massachusetts General Hospital and is now is resting comfortably. Ainge, 50, is is expected to remain in the hospital for a few days, most likely through Boston’s playoff opener with Chicago on Saturday.
Danny Ainge took over reins of the Celtics in 2003 and orchestrated last year’s Celtics championship by bringing in Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen pairing it with Paul Pierce forming the “Big Three”. For his work, Ainge won the 2007-08 NBA Executive of the Year. Ainge did not attend Wednesday night’s Celtics game because he was feeling sick.
Ainge woke up Thursday morning with chest pains and was taken to the hospital. Doctors later inserted a stent to unclog an artery that was 100 percent clogged.
